About Marc Funaro
Greetings Classmates!
This blog software expected me to "describe myself" as an "author" of the blog... so this is the page that does so.
I run my own company -- have done so since March 1997. I am assisted by my fiancee Connie Silverbrand, when she's not taking care of my two precious little ones and running her own business as well. I still live in Norwich, though I have clients nationwide. I specialize in web applications development (I'm not a "webmaster" per se, but more of a software engineer), and also host web applications out of our datacenter in Syracuse.
My degree is in music, but musicians are usually identified as "starving", and one look at me recently and you'll understand how much I apparently hate to "starve"... so computers were the obvious second career choice. :)
I still instruct with the Norwich Field Band, a group that's placed very high and been very successful in the state conference over the past several years. If any of you reading this are still in Norwich and have children in the Norwich Schools, prod them to come to the band rehearsals, even if they don't play anything (yet). It's a worthwhile activity and a LOT of fun for all the kids involved.
I am very much looking forward to being involved in the 20th (+1) reunion, and never thought I'd be as excited about it as I am. If you're reading this and were not planning on attending, I ask you to please reconsider. As someone that used to scoff at reunions himself, I can tell you that 20 years changes a lot of things, and whatever reasons you may have for not attending, I feel you'll be missing out on something somewhat special.
Please check back to the site often, join our mailing list, and stay in touch -- you'd be surprised how many people would like to see or hear from you after all this time... people you'd never expect.
Also, there's been a big migration of our classmates to facebook.com lately, so join up there, look us up and add us as friends... it's pretty darn cool!
Thanks for stopping by.
Marc
